Small-scale Technology Certificate (STCs) price updates:
At the time of writing (27 November 2020) STCs are trading at $37.80, which is unchanged from the previous month. The latest spot trade pricing for STCs is $0.30 higher compared to the same time last year where pricing was at $37.50.
Large-scale Generation Certificate (LGCs) price updates:
Since the end of July 2020 up until 17 September, LGC prices surged from $40.00 to $49.75, but has since dropped back down to its current level at $39.00, which is $0.50 higher compared to the previous month. While the 1.3% increase month on month is encouraging, there has been a downward trend in recent months. Over the last 12 months, LGC prices peaked at $51.75 (November 2019) and bottomed out at $27.50 (April 2020) while nudging the $50 mark in September 2020 before falling back down to its current level $39.00.
Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) price updates:
VEECs were trading at $37.25 as at 27 November 2020, a 4.05% increase from the previous month’s spot trades at $35.80. VEEC pricing has increased dramatically over the last 12-months, up by 50.20% from $24.80 since Nov-19 – indicating a significant increase in the demand for VEECs compared to this time last year. VEEC prices peaked at $38.60 in January 2020 with spot trade prices being mostly within the $33.00 and $37.00 range since then, the only exception being in June-2020 when VEECs fell below $30 for the first time since breaking that ceiling in December 2019.
Energy Saving Certificates (ESCs) price update:
At the time of writing, ESC pricing fell by 2.0%, from $27.15 to $26.70. Over the last 12 month period, ESCs have mostly traded between the $23.00 and $30.00 range. ESC pricing peaked at $30.20 in April-20 and the lowest point was in October 2019 at $22.10.
