Large-scale Generation Certificate (LGCs) price updates:
The average LGC prices in January was $46.50, which is $3.45 higher compared to the previous month. LGC prices reached a peak of $43.90 last October and dropped to $43.25 in December 2021.
Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) price updates:
Trading for Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) was at an average price of $80.20, which is $2.10 higher than the previous month. For the last quarter of 2021, VEEC prices rose by 2.69%. Compared to the same period last year, VEEC prices almost doubled (January 2022 v 2021) from $44.80 to $80.20 – an 80% Year on Year increase.
Energy Saving Certificates (ESCs) price update:
Spot trade prices for Energy Saving Certificates (ESCs) were on average around the $37.20 mark in January 2022, which is $1.20 higher compared to the previous month price of $36.00. The moving average price band for ESCs were between $30.00 and $35.00 throughout 2021 while it reached its peak at $39.70 in September 2021. Trading prices stabilised during the last quarter of 2021.
